The most fundamental things that make for a successful and pleasant designer/client relationship is to understand that beyond buying a beautiful space or an idea, you are also buying a professional service. We believe in the importance of helping you understand the design process in order to help you better grasp the value of the services acquired.

Initial Interview

During this time, you’ll have the opportunity to meet with one of our Design Directors to tell us everything about your project and your vision for it. During this visit our team will share information about our services, process, compensation structure and discuss potential design inspirations.

Design Consultation

If you feel Casa Rodar is the right fit for your project, we’ll be more than pleased to get the process started with a more in-depth consultation in order to develop a Design Concept for your project. 

Concept Design

Our team will present you with a personalized design concept in order to start a more specific conversation. This presentation will mostly include inspirational images and/or hand drawn sketches laying out initial space flow recommendations (floorplans), material selection, color palette and overall look and feel. During this stage we’ll get a better idea of the styles you gravitate towards and the things you love the most that will better suite your needs and those of your family.

Schematic Design

At this stage a more thorough design process will take place where we will present you with two options for the new design layout based on your needs and style. This presentation will consist of more detailed design elements including a combination of rendered floor plans, elevations, materials, finishes and two perspective renderings for the most important areas of the scope. This level of detail will help you appreciate the design intent in a realistic scenario. 

Design Development

The design development process consists of finalizing all schematic design decisions and traditional trade coordination such as: Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP). A design presentation outlining all agreed floor plans and layouts is presented to the client for final sign off. This presentation will include all design details, finishes and materials in order to produce the overall design intent, including: all millwork for closets, kitchen, custom buildouts, window treatments, lighting details, wall coverings, appliances, plumbing fixtures, furniture, doors, hardware and/or any other necessary accessories.

Construction Documents

In order for construction to commence Casa Rodar will issue a comprehensive set of Construction Documents and Specifications Package. The complete set of construction documents including engineering professional services are utilized for final pricing and permitting, concluding the overall design documentation.

Bidding & Negotiation, Filing & Permitting

One of the most important parts of any architectural design project comes down to assembling the right team of experts to carry out the work. At Casa Rodar we offer turn-key services that eliminate all the hassle of researching, bidding and managing outside vendors. We’ll guide you through the most important aspects of what to look for when selecting a contractor and carry a completely transparent bidding process providing you with fair and trusted contractor options. 

Simultaneously, it’s time to commence the filing and permitting process. We’ll walk you through this time consuming process as we handle all necessary paperwork and communications in order to ensure the most efficient and timely approvals possible.

Construction & Project Supervision

Once construction begins our team is responsible for the overall supervision of the construction process. Our Project Manager will make sure to stay in constant communication with the contractor, trades, outside vendors and schedule periodic site visits to ensure construction quality remains true to its design intent. Your project manager will also be the person in charge of all project financials and providing periodic progress reports as the project moves forward. 

Sourcing & Purchasing, Delivery & Installation

Casa Rodar provides you the convenient service of managing the sourcing for all merchandise and/or service provided by a third party vendor. Our sourcing services include: selection presentations, placing and tracking orders, as well as managing delivery and proper installation. 

Project Turnover

During this final stage we make sure every last detail is up to the highest standards in order to deliver you the most beautiful finished product. These last few days may include things like taking care of any last minute touch ups, setting up furniture, putting up art work, adding decorations, etc. Essentially, ensuring everything is set up to make you feel like you are walking into a space that’s exquisitely designed and uniquely yours.
